This fly by night flower shop moved into an old gas station not far from my house on Thursday night. I'm curious how tiny those roses are for $19.99.

70 degrees and snowboarding!

Here are a few shots from a snowboarding competition at KC P&L this past weekend. These were the amateurs, the pros came on later that night.

First Friday, Feb 2009

Here are a few pictures from First Friday at the Crosstown Station. The picture above is Traci Feuerbach, she's creating stained glass artwork. The second picture is of Brandon Draper on the drums. I'm not sure who the girl is in the last picture but she did an impressive performance with several light up hula hoops. If anyone knows her name I'll update this post.

Great day for a ride!

It was 72 here on Saturday, awesome weather for a feb. ride! After over a month of indoor spinning it felt great to be riding outside. The KC Multispot spin class is paying off, I felt great on the hills.

Chipotle

Carb loading for spin class. Last month I ate Chipotle for 8 work lunches in a row! I had to stop when I realized I'd spent over $50 on burritos. I went back to homemade lunches.

Wanting to test my new 70-200 f4.0 IS lens, I called for my favorite 4 legged model. I'll definitely have to take some more shots this weekend but I think I'm going to like this lens.

2009 Polar Plunge

The 2009 Polar Plunge was held yesterday. It was entertaining to watch and they were supporting a great charity, Special Olympics Kansas. I'm not sure I could do it, I have a hard enough time getting into the cold pool for masters swimming. A freezing lake is probably out of the question. There were a lot of funny pictures to choose from, these were among my favorites.
